OVERVIEW

A maritime inspection does not begin when an inspector steps onboard. It begins with work orders, vessel history, compliance records, supporting documents, and coordination across multiple stakeholders.

For a leading global maritime client, managing this process across ports and jurisdictions had become increasingly complex. Maganti IT developed InspectorApp (Vessel 360) to connect work-order briefing, onboard inspections, evidence capture, reviews, approvals, and legal sign-off within one enterprise mobility platform.

Built for demanding shipboard conditions, the solution supports offline work, improves coordination between field and office teams, and provides end-to-end traceability across every inspection.

THE CHALLENGE

Vessel compliance software built from disconnected tools was slowing down the maritime industry's inspection teams.

Inspectors were responsible for reviewing lengthy work orders, locating supporting documentation, capturing evidence, coordinating approvals, and maintaining audit readiness, often aboard vessels where physical conditions already made the work demanding.

Because the existing vessel compliance software relied on disconnected tools rather than one connected system, inspectors lost time switching between applications, manually reviewing dense documentation, and coordinating sign off across multiple stakeholders. This is a challenge common across the maritime industry, where inspection teams are asked to move fast in some of the most disconnected environments in any global industry.

As inspection volume grew, this friction stopped being a minor inconvenience and started shaping how quickly LISCR could move from findings to certification. Leadership needed a true enterprise mobility solution: one mobile inspection app that could unify the inspection lifecycle from briefing to legal sign off, without asking inspectors to sacrifice mobility or speed.

RESULTS AT A GLANCE

Full Lifecycle

Briefing, evidence, collaboration, and legal sign off now run through one connected mobile inspection app instead of scattered tools

Simultaneous Releases

One click deployment pushes every update to iOS and Android at the same time, so no inspector across the maritime industry works from an outdated version

Built to Scale

Clean Architecture and MVVM give LISCR an enterprise mobility solution engineered for years of inspection growth, not a short term fix

Full Audit Trail

DocuSign integration carries every approval from findings to legal sign off with a complete, traceable record built for maritime industry compliance standards

THE SOLUTION

An enterprise mobility solution engineered specifically for maritime industry compliance.

MIT Resource developed InspectorApp as a unified, offline first mobile inspection app purpose built for maritime industry inspection operations, replacing a patchwork of disconnected vessel compliance software with a single connected enterprise mobility solution.

  • AI Powered Work Order Briefings
Dense work orders are automatically summarized into concise operational insights, helping inspectors understand requirements and priorities before they ever board the vessel.
  • Unified Work Order Management
Assignment, execution, reporting, and approval now live inside one system of record, giving maritime industry leadership a single source of truth across the entire inspection lifecycle.
  • Integrated Evidence Collection
Native camera APIs let inspectors capture and attach photographic evidence directly within the inspection record in real time, eliminating separate photo tools and manual uploads.
  • Digital Approval Workflows
DocuSign integration carries every work order through to legal sign off, replacing a paper heavy process with a fully traceable digital one, a critical requirement for vessel compliance software.
  • Real Time Collaboration
Integrated video and chat keep inspectors, operations teams, and stakeholders coordinated without ever leaving the mobile inspection app.
  • Offline First Architecture
Built on Clean Architecture and MVVM with automated CI/CD through Azure DevOps, the platform stays fully functional in the low connectivity conditions typical of the maritime industry, and ships updates to the App Store and Play Store simultaneously from a single deployment.

BUSINESS IMPACT

Turning fragmented vessel compliance software into a scalable enterprise mobility solution for the maritime industry.

The InspectorApp implementation delivered measurable improvements across inspection speed, documentation quality, and operational visibility for one of the maritime industry's leading registries.

Inspectors gained faster access to information and spent less time on administrative coordination, while evidence capture became consistent by design rather than dependent on individual habits. Centralized work order management improved visibility for leadership, and integrated DocuSign approvals reduced the manual effort and delay historically associated with sign off across maritime industry inspection programs.

Most importantly, because the platform was engineered on Clean Architecture and MVVM with automated CI/CD from day one, LISCR gained more than a faster process. It gained an enterprise mobility solution built to absorb future inspection growth and evolving maritime industry regulatory requirements without a rebuild.
